Lower Lights Burning,
First Last Chance

Reviewed by f*v

Lower Lights Burning wants to be a gritty gutter rockabilly thing as practiced by Southern Culture on the Skids and, at times, Social Distortion. They’ve found a formula, sticking to it throughout their First Last Chance. LLB keeps the music fairly simple and predictable, giving off a strong “bar band” vibe, vocals forced at times as if the singer is pleading with his voice to sound authentic. Is this a horrible effort? No. It’s not a bad first chance, but let’s hope their second is better.
